School Leaders for the Day
On Thursday 27th May, the running of the school was taken over by six of our pupils! They undertook the roles of Executive Head Teacher, Head of School and Office Manager for the whole day.
The first task of the day was to lead the staff briefing, followed by opening up the school and greeting pupils and parents at the school gates. After all pupils had been welcomed into school, our newly appointed school leaders held a finance meeting to discuss how the money raised from the raffle should be spent. The leaders will be announcing their choice of purchases to the school after half-term!
The next task was playground duty - the leaders were equipped with their own whistles and very much enjoyed using them! There was time for a doughnut and hot chocolate break before leaders then visited classrooms, undertaking lesson observations and awarding achievement points to pupils for excellent work. Our Office Managers answered the phones and ensured the registers were processed.
After lunch, our school leaders led achievement assembly for the whole school via Zoom and then went for a well-earned break in the staffroom. They carried out the last playground and gate duties of the day before it was time to go home.
Miss Salisbury, Mrs Young, Mrs Tite and Mrs Walton were so impressed with the school leaders and now know who to call should they need the day off! Their confidence and enthusiasm for their roles was wonderful to see - both the little leaders and the big leaders had a fantastic day!
